The youngster, who made his directorial debut with Ambi Ning Vayassaytho, has been prepping for his onscreen launch
Very often, when Kannada superstar Kiccha Sudeep makes public appearances, one of his companions is often a strapping young man, who grabs just as many eyeballs. This youngster, as it turns out, is Sudeep’s sister’s son, Sanchith, an aspiring filmmaker and actor, who has been tailing his illustrious uncle for quite a while to pick up the tricks of the trade.
Sanchith’s first outing as a filmmaker happened in 2018, when he and Gurudutha Ganiga co-directed a film called Ambi Ning Vayassaytho, the Kannada remake of the Tamil flick Paa Pandi. The film, which had Rebel Star Ambareesh in the lead, turned out to be the veteran actor’s last before his demise. Subsequently, though, instead of jumping head-long into the next project, Sanchith has been maintaining a low profile, while he worked on honing his skill sets in front and behind the camera. Trained in filmmaking, acting, and cinematography from the New York Academy, Sanchith, we hear, is now ready to take his solo directorial debut on the road. This, according to reports, will also launch him as an actor.
It had been earlier reported that Sudeep was set to produce Sanchith’s launchpad, under a newly-launched banner called Supriyanyi Picture Studio, and director Jayathirtha was believed to have been picked for the job. In earlier interactions with the media, Sanchith had said that between being a filmmaker and actor, it’s the former that he prefers, as he loves telling stories. This is perhaps why he chose to direct his own acting debut. An official announcement for Sanchith’s debut, which, according to reports is called Jimmy, is expected shortly.
Meanwhile, as Sudeep fans eagerly await word on the superstar’s next after Vikrant Rona, it appears that it will be Sanchith who will have a major announcement soon. Reports suggest that Sudeep will produce Sanchith’s film along with Manjunath Gowda of Shalini Artss.
