The Kannada superstar had taken ill after he got drenched in the rain during a cricket match.
Last evening, the viral news about Kiccha Sudeep was that he’d caught Covid yet again, owing to which promotions of his next, Vikrant Rona, had been suspended. The film’s producer, Manjunath Gowda, who is also a close aide of the actor, later clarified that Sudeep was Covid negative and was, instead, down with a bad bout of viral fever.
Apparently, Sudeep played cricket amid rains and wound up falling sick, the news of which quickly spread that he had Covid. The actor had battled the virus last year in April, which had been pretty brutal on him. He has admitted to not being able to resume exercising for a good 8-9 months after he had Covid. This time around, luckily, it is only a viral fever and the team of Vikrant Rona is hopeful of him being better in a day or two.
In fact, Manjunath says that the Kannada superstar will resume promotions of the film, which is releasing in theatres on July 28 on Saturday (July 23). “On Friday, Sudeep will head out for the Mumbai leg of the promotions, which will be held over the weekend. On July 25, he will be in Hyderabad, following which, he will return to Bengaluru for the pre-release event on July 26. On July 27, Sudeep will be in Dubai for the red-carpet premiere of the film,” Manju has been quoted in a video message for fans.
In the last few weeks, Sudeep has been at the forefront of promotions of the Anup Bhandari directorial, as the saleable face of the project. He had extensive interview sessions with media across platforms at his home in Bengaluru, after which he began touring the country. Fans, who have been tracking the promotions of the film, are divided in their opinion about whether enough is being done or not, with many still maintaining that Vikrant Rona is still lagging behind KGF-2 and even 777 Charlie as far as promotions go.
