Kiccha Sudeep to complete his portions as Kabzaa’s Bhargav Bakshi in May

The R Chandru directorial has Real Star Upendra in the lead and is the tale of an underworld don who ruled over south India

Kannada filmmaker R Chandru’s next is his most ambitious project to date. Called Kabzaa, the film, which has Upendra in the lead, is a period underworld tale about a don who ruled over all of south India. The pan-Indian film has a massive ensemble cast, including superstar Kiccha Sudeep, who plays a pivotal character called Bhargav Bakshi.

Earlier this month, there were rumours that Sudeep has had a difference of opinion with Chandru and walked out of the project without completing his portions for the film. At the time, Kabzaa was reportedly about 80% done, with a major portion set to be shot in Hyderabad and one schedule in Mangaluru too to wind it up. Chandru was waiting on the completion of the special sets being erected for Kabzaa in Hyderabad to resume shooting, when these rumours surfaced, prompting the filmmaker to take to social media and clarify that all was well and that Sudeep was still a part of the film. “"A few news reports have been claiming that Sudeep sir has walked out of 'Kabzaa'. These reports are far from the truth. Sudeep has already participated in the shooting of 'Kabzaa' so I would request everyone to not pay any heed to such false news items," he had written back then.

Earlier today, a Kannada cinema tracking sites reported that Sudeep has apparently allotted two days to the makers of Kabzaa to complete his portions. The actor is expected to join the set of the film in May for the same. Speaking to us earlier, leading man Upendra had said that he was looking at winding up Kabzaa by the end of April, so that he could then focus on his own directorial, which is due to start soon.

Kabzaa, produced and directed by R Chandra, also stars Shriya Saran, Murali Sharma, Posani Krishna Murali, Nawab Shah, Danish Akhtar Saifi, Kabir Duhan Singh, among others.
