The overseas distribution deal is likely to be one of the biggest for a Kannada film prior to its release.
Anup Bhandari's 'Vikrant Rona' is making all the right buzz in its lead-up to the July release. The film's overseas distribution rights have been sold for a whopping price of $1.3 million (reportedly) that have been acquired by One Twenty 8 media.
This particular overseas distribution deal is likely to be one of the biggest for a Kannada film prior to its release. In a recent interview with an online entity, producer Jack Manjunath expressed joy over the massive deal and stated that the film's universal appeal is sure to lure audiences all over the globe and the price of the overseas rights is a testament to that.
Vikrant Rona, a promising 3-D spectacle, will release worldwide on July 28 and the pre-release promotions have been nothing short of grand. The film became the first in the entire world to have its maiden promo be projected on Burj Khalifa in Dubai and the makers are ensuring to consistently raise the bar as far as publicity is concerned. Kiccha Sudeep, who incidentally celebrated his 25th anniversary at the movies on the same day as the Burj Khalifa event, became the first Kannada actor in history to dub in English.
In the same vein, the team of Vikrant Rona also roped in multiple celebrities from other film industries to unveil the special release date teaser on April 2nd. While Sudeep released the teaser in Kannada, Tamil actor Silambarasan did the honors for the Tamil version with veteran superstars Chiranjeevi, Mohanlal, and Salman Khan doing so in Telugu, Malayalam, and Hindi respectively. Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag unveiled the English teaser on the same day.
Vikrant Rona has been produced by Shalini Jack Manju and Alankar Pandian and stars Kiccha Sudeep who plays the titular role. Nirup Bhandari, Neetha Ashok, and Jacqueline Fernandez, along with a few others, make up the rest of the cast. The film releases on July 28th in multiple Indian and foreign languages.
