Yada Yada Hi comes as the remake of the 2019 Telugu hit Evaru, starring Adivi Sesh and Regina Cassandra
The official Kannada remake of the Telugu hit Evaru was announced back in 2020. With Diganth Manchale roped in to play Adivi Sesh's part and Hariprriya & Vasishta N. Simha, too, coming on board to be part of the principal cast, the team went on floors shortly after the project was confirmed but one heard nothing more about either its making or the eventual theatrical release. In the interim, cast members Hariprriya & Vasishta Simha would announce their relationship and go on to tie the knot in January 2023, but the development of the remake, titled Yada Yada Hi, remained in the dark.
Well, luckily for the fans, Yada Yada Hi is back in the news as the makers release the title track from the film. The energetic number, composed by Harsha Vardhan Raaj with Nagarjuna Sharma writing the lyrics, includes Vasishta Simha's trademark baritone voice with his now-wife Hariprriya joining him to provide the chorus. The lyrical video also includes behind-the-scenes footage from the film's shoot. The Yada Yada Hi title track was launched by Kiccha Sudeep.
The 2019 film Evaru is loosely based on the 2016 Spanish film The Invisible Guest, which was officially remade in Hindi by Sujay Ghosh in the same year as Badla (starring Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu). Venkat Ramji's Telugu adaptation includes Adivi Sesh in the role of a slick and street-smart police officer who is dragged into a maze of love and deceit that has Regina Cassandra's character Sameera Maha at the centre. Evaru received positive reviews and emerged as a commercial success.
The Kannada remake has been directed by Ashok Teja with Rajesh Agarwal producing the film.
