Kiara Advani also shared that it was Sidharth Malhotra who advised her not to take these criticisms to heart.
Kiara Advani has talked about how upset she is that online trolls are targeting her because of her marital status. She claimed it occurred shortly after her wedding, when her most recent film, Satyaprem Ki Katha was set to be released. She said that her husband, the actor Sidharth Malhotra, was instrumental in getting her through the tough time and keeping a positive outlook.
On February 7, Kiara and Sidharth Malhotra tied the knot. Their intimate wedding was held in Jaisalmer's majestic Suryagarh Palace. They met and fell in love at work in Shershaah, and after dating for some time, they decided to tie the knot.
Kiara recently revealed that her husband has requested that she not post images of them online due to the fact that the couple is very secretive about their private lives. As she said to Film Companion, "He didn't want us to post some of the wedding stuff that we posted, that video. There was a lot of debate about it."
Kiara claimed that while Sidharth and she were originally hesitant to share the footage, it was Manish Malhotra who insisted that they do so.
During the time that Satyaprem Ki Katha was being released, Kiara also experienced a low mood because of the online trolls she had to deal with after Sidharth and her. Being a newlywed, some of the criticism of those sequences struck her as oddly negative: "Why is she doing it now that she is married?" Kiara said that perhaps it had something to do with the whole "Oh, now she is married!" thing.
In that moment, the actor thought, "Wait! What just happened here? This is all too new for me because, on the one hand, people troll you for very ridiculous things, but now people are trolling you because you are a married actor, and people expect you to say or do certain things. That got to me slightly. I was not able to brush it off. It was really affecting me."
Kiara admitted that she has a horrible habit of reading anything that has been posted about her online. A few unkind words were said to her, and she didn't even tell Sidharth about them. Her initial reaction was, "I don't want to talk about it because the minute I talk about it, then I am going deeper into it, so let's not."
Even though Sidharth had witnessed it independently, he chose not to bring it up for fear of drawing unnecessary attention to it. Thus, Kiara owes all her understanding to him.
He told her, "‘Look, there will always be these negative trolls. But if you’re going to give so much importance to this, be sitting at home and crying and behaving like s**t has hit the roof right now. What's wrong with you? You don't know them. They don't know you. These could be like certain fans who did not like that we got married. Just let it be. Why are you getting into it?"
Kiara is thankful that she has somebody who has knowledge, maturity, and experience in this area to urge her not to give heed to this stuff.
Fans and critics alike have praised the actor for her performance in Satyaprem Ki Katha.
