The December surprise was Kho Gaye Hum Kahan (2023), starring Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ananya Panday, and Adarsh Gourav. Critics have lauded Arjun Varain Singh's debut feature film for deftly examining, via its protagonists' struggles, the ways in which social media impacts the lives of Generation Z. It is not surprising that the creators and the platform are discussing a sequel.

Sequel plans and startup storyline

As per reports in Mid Day, Tiger Baby and Excel Entertainment present a fitness centre startup story with three friends—Chaturvedi, Panday, and Gourav. The creators of the second installment are considering exploring how the startup affects their friendships.

Netflix India's extensive promotional efforts for Kho Gaye Hum Kahan indicated their confidence in the film's potential for expansion, rather than perceiving it as a one-off project. It's being reported that in the next installment, the film will witness the protagonists launch their partnership and face the challenges of managing their personal lives, relationships, and careers simultaneously. The producers will not move on with the second part unless they find a script that is completely bug-free. For this team, the narrative is paramount. The same logic that prevented them from making a sequel to Dil Chahta Hai [2001] applies here.
