Khatron Ke Khiladi 12: Kanika Mann says she joined Rohit Shetty-hosted reality series to show people her ‘real self’

Tushar Kalia, Shivangi Joshi, Chetna Pande, Sriti Jha, Mohit Malik, Faizal Shaikh and Rubina Dilaik are some of the other contestants on the show this season.

After giving it her all on the silver screen with her acting roles, Kanika Mann is seeking to expand her horizons with Khatron Ke Khiladi 12. The actress recently opened up about why she chose to do the reality show hosted by Rohit Shetty.

In conversation with PTI, Mann spoke of how people were familiar with the characters she played and how fans knew her through them. But the actress also wished that people were made aware of her ‘real self’, and Khatron Ke Khiladi 12 was her ‘practical effort’ to do so. She said that she was happy that people knew her through the characters she played, as that meant audiences liked her work. “But there is a desire that people call me by my real name”, she added.

The actress was last seen in the ZEE5 show Guddan Tumse Na Ho Payega and has also appeared in shows like Badho Bahu and Roohaniyat as well. She said that she considered herself lucky to have been a part of great shows, but wanted to try something different so that she didn't feel like she was ‘lacking’ anywhere. Mann added that the reality show came to her ‘at the right time’.

Speaking of her future plans, Mann spoke of how she wanted to try new, different things and wanted to experiment. She said that she would not prefer to do the kinds of shows she has done, like Guddan Tumse Na Ho Payega. Instead she wanted to try her hand at an OTT project.

In addition to Mann, Khatron Ke Khiladi 12 also features Faizal Shaikh, Rubina Dilaik, Pratik Sehajpal, Tushar Kalia, Shivangi Joshi, Jannat Zubair, Chetna Pande, Sriti Jha, Mohit Malik, Nishant Bhat and Rajiv Adatia as contestants.

Khatron Ke Khiladi 12 will premiere on July 2, 2022, on Colors TV and Voot.
