KGf director Prasanth Neel says the ‘human element’ important to make larger-than-life movies

Director Prasanth Neel created a storm with KGF and has now returned with KGF: Chapter 2. The filmmaker has now opened up about how important the human element is in making a movie as massive as KFG: Chapter 2.

The director told PTI that they had no idea that the movie would become as big as it did and that there were no plans to make it a pan-Indian movie or release it in two parts.

The idea was to make a Kannada movie and then eventually split it into two parts and then take it to other states. He added that the credit goes to the producers and Yash and that his idea was to connect people with a mother-son story.

"The human element is the first thing that we should put in a big movie. When you talk about larger-than-life movies, that human element binds everything together. Like, the way the characters behave should look human to you.”

He also said that a lot of prominence was given to this human element while filming the first and second parts of the movie.

KGF: Chapter 2 stars Yash along with Sanjay Dutt, Srinidhi Shetty, Raveena Tandon, Prakash Raj, Ramachandra Raju and Achyuth Kumar in other important roles.

The first part of the movie focussed on the rise of a young boy in Bombay to a feared and respected gangster called Rocky. The movie then traces the history of a gold mining mafia in Karnataka's Kolar region and how Rocky ends up being the saviour of the many enslaved miners there.

The movie, which has seen massive pre-release ticket sales around the country, hit theatres today in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi.
