KGF: Chapter 2: Yash's character Rocky is inspired by Amitabh Bachchan's ‘Angry Young Man’ roles from his classic films

Directed by Prashanth Neel, the film also stars Srinidhi Shetty, Raveena Tandon, Sanjay Dutt, Archana Jois, Anant Nag, among others

Actor Yash returns as Rocky Bhai in the sequel of the hit film, KGF. Directed by Prashanth Neel, KGF: Chapter 2 will see him reprise the role of the gangster because even though he hates violence, 'violence likes him'. Interestingly, his character is inspired by Amitabh Bachchan's 'Angry young man' characters in his classic movies like Shahenshah, Agneepath, Don and Deewaar.

As the film is nearing its release, actor Yash talked about his character and his interest in remaking the classics of Bachchan, which inspired his character. Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, the Kannada superstar said, “Essence, belief system, heroism, hero-worship” were inspired by Amitabh Bachchan but not any of his films. He further added that the essence of Bachchan's films is retained and that's what he believes Indians love to watch.

He further said that he does not like remakes personally and would prefer if Bachchan's classics are left untouched. He said, “Remake pasand nahi hain personally and again, Amit ji ka, don’t touch that thing. Classics, jo unka kaam hain kis mindset pe could have come, don’t think I would do anything.”

Meanwhile, KGF: Chapter 2 also stars Srinidhi Shetty, Raveena Tandon, Sanjay Dutt, Archana Jois, and Anant Nag, among others. The pan-Indian film will release on April 14, 2022, in five languages - Kannada, Telugu, Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam. It is bankrolled by Vijay Kiragandur under the banner of Hombale Films.
