Last evening, the much-awaited trailer of Rocking Star Yash’s KGF: Chapter 2 was launched at a star-studded event in Bengaluru. The trailer, launched by the likes of Suriya, Ram Charan, Prithviraj and Farhan Akthar, of course, went viral within no time and, according to industry trackers has raced to 100 million views in just under 24 hours. Although it was still being debated whether the views were organic, what was interesting was the break-up of the views, with almost half of it registering for the Hindi version of KGF2. Interestingly, even the Telugu version has more views than the Kannada trailer.

According to an official update from Hombale Films, the production house backing the KGF saga, “Rocky don't like it, He avoids, But Records likes Rocky! He Cannot avoid it. 𝟏𝟎𝟗 + 𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐕𝐢𝐞𝐰𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝟐𝟒 𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬 ♥️🙏Kannada: 18M, Telugu: 20M, Hindi: 51M, Tamil: 12M, Malayalam: 8M.”

Industry insiders, meanwhile, say that the craze for KGF: Chapter 2 in the Hindi belt is such that it is expected to open with Rs 40 crore in that segment. The film is being presented in North-Indian markets by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment and AA Films.

Directed by Prashant Neel, KGF: Chapter 2 is all set to release in theatres world-wide on April 14, 2022. While it is not clear how soon the film will make its way to TV and streaming platforms, Hombale Films have announced that all satellite and digital partnerships were in place for all five languages of the film. While Zee Network got the TV rights for Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam, Hindi went to Sony Max. The film will stream on Amazon Prime Video in all five languages.
