Although there has been no official announcement about the release date of the Tamil film Beast, it is speculated to clash with Yash’s KGF: Chapter 2 on April 14. The buzz now is that Beast will either release a day ahead or postpone its release.
There’s a reason that Yash, as Rocky Bhai says, “Naan barovargu matra beravara hawa , band mele nande hawa.” KGF: Chapter 2 is, undeniably, one of the most anticipated films in the country, and everyone who’s been invested in the story of Rocky Bhai would want to know how the tale progresses in Prashant Neel’s directorial, especially now that Sanjay Dutt’s Adheera is also in the mix.
Since the third wave of the pandemic, most big-ticket film releases across languages have been planned keeping in mind the titles that are likely to give them maximum competition. KGF: Chapter 2 was among the first to zero in on April 14 as its proposed release, accordingly, some big Tamil and Telugu titles either fixed March dates, like RRR, Bheemla Nayak, Valimai, or post KGF windows, like Acharya.
Amid all this is Tamil star Vijay’s Beast, which does not have an official release date, but is rumoured to be part of a three-way box-office clash with KGF: Chapter 2 and Shahid Kapoor’s Jersey. Earlier today, social media was abuzz with news that Beast would indeed have a festival release and make the most of the extended holiday. April 13 is Ugadi, April 14 Vishu/Bihu/ and April 15 is Good Friday, leading into the Easter weekend.
The chatter on social media indicates that the makers of Beast will look at getting a head-start on KGF: Chapter 2 and release the film a day ahead on April 13. KGF fans were quick to respond that Beast chose an early release because once Yash’s film comes, it will all be about Rocky Bhai. There were other reports that Beast may not get a festival release after all. But all of this remains unconfirmed at the moment, as the makers have only teased an April release with no final date announcement.
