Directed and written by Prashanth Neel, the film stars Yash, Sanjay Dutt, Srinidhi Shetty, Raveena Tandon and Prakash Raj in prime roles
The craze for KGF: Chapter 2 has been skyrocketing since its release yesterday. So much so, that cinema halls across the country are now having to accommodate show timings throughout the day- from as early as 6 AM to shows after midnight. The film was released across 10,000 theatres worldwide in Kannada, Tamil, Hindi, Telugu and Malayalam.
News has been emerging from several locations across India that at certain B and C centres, the audience's craze has increased to such an extent that cinema halls are overflowing. According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, one such incident has come up in Tamil Nadu, wherein, to accommodate the extra audience, chairs were added beside the screen so that people can have a place to sit.
But lack of space is no limit for KGF: Chapter 2’s dedicated fans. Because several dedicated fans are also willing to watch the entire film sitting on the floor or even standing, just to witness Yash make magic on screen.
What’s interesting to note is that this isn’t the first time that theatres are being booked beyond their capacities for a certain film. In 2019, the film Viswasam, which starred Ajith and Nayanthara, reported overbooked theatres across states. KGF: Chapter 2 has been following a similar trend and the film has already reported earnings worth Rs 138cr within two days of its release. It is now safe to say that this might increase in the coming days.
Written and directed by Prashanth Neel, KGF: Chapter 2 is a pan Indian period action film that has been produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the banner of Hombale Films. It is a sequel to the 2018 film KGF: Chapter 1 and stars Yash, Sanjay Dutt, Srinidhi Shetty, Raveena Tandon and Prakash Raj in prime roles.
