Prasanth Neel’s KGF created a big storm following its release in 2018. As its much-awaited sequel prepares for a release, Sanjay Dutt is one of the stars looking forward to it.

The actor who plays the main antagonist, Adheera, has now opened up about how KGF was the first South Indian film he was offered and how the makers wanted only him to play the role of Adheera.

“I got a call one day and these people wanted to come and meet me. So they came and I was totally amazed by the character. I asked them how and why they thought of me playing Adheera in the movie.” he told PTI.

He further added that they told him that they wanted only him to play the character. Dutt adds that the character is so strong that he instantly said yes to the role.

Talking about his debut South Indian film, the actor reveals that this is the first offer he has received from the South industries. Dutt also said that he believes there is no segmentation in the industry today and everyone represents the Indian film industry.

Directed by Prasanth Neel, KGF 2 stars Yash in the lead role, with Srinidhi Shetty, Raveena Tandon, Prakash Raj, Ramachandra Raju and Achyuth Kumar in other important roles.

Produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the banner Hombale Films, the second part of the period action flick is set to hit theatres around the world on April 14. The movie will come out in Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam.
