Keerthy Suresh to star in Chiranjeevi’s Vedalam remake?

Mahanati actress Keerthy Suresh will reportedly play a key role in the Telugu remake of Ajith Kumar movie Vedalam starring Chiranjeevi, directed by Meher Ramesh.

Mahanati actress Keerthy Suresh will reportedly play a key role in the Telugu remake of Ajith Kumar movie Vedalam starring Chiranjeevi, directed by Meher Ramesh. According to reports, the shooting is all set to start by the third week of September. It is rumoured that Shruti Haasan, who played the love interest in Vedalam, will reprise her role in the remake too.

Meher Ramesh is best known for his movie Billa, a remake of the 1978 Hindi film Don. The movie starred Prabhas in a double role as a don and a petty thief. Vedalam was directed by Siva and featured Ajith Kumar in the lead role as a rowdy Ganesh, who goes to any length to protect his sister Thamizh, played by Lakshmi Menon.

Although critics drew attention to the fact that Ajith’s role is a reworking of Rajinikanth’s Baasha, the movie became a huge success at the box office. Ajith’s role as a doting brother and wise-cracking goon won praise from family audiences.
