KBC 16

A question on Indian navy was raised on last night's episode with Amitabh Bachchan. Contestant Naman Jain from Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh was on the hot seat when he was asked the question. He is preparing for UPSC but was unaware about it and lost out on an opportunity to win Rs. 3,20,000. Eventually, he took home Rs. 10,000. Naman was on the show to clear out his education loan of Rs. 15 lacs. Here's what the question and answer were...

The question:

The question that made Namam lose a lot of money was for Rs. 3,20,000. It was -

Q. In July 2024, which Indian warship was severely damaged after a fire on board?

The options:

The options included -

A. INS Beas

B. INS Brahmaputra

C. INS Talwar

D. INS Sahyadri

The answer:

Naman thought it was C. INS Talwar. He believed that Talwar was launched, but was getting confused about the answer.

Thus, he used a lifeline video call to a friend and called his younger brother Arihant Jain instead. Naman informed Amitabh Bachchan about how his brother takes such quizzes everytime he prepares for UPSC.

Unfortunately, even Arihant was unsure of the answer. Eventually, Naman went with option D. INS Sahyadri.

It was a wrong answer. The correct answer was -

B. INS Brahmaputra

After informing of the correct answer, Big B said that INS Brahmaputra was under maintenance at the time of the fire. The warship was at Mumbai Naval Dockyard at the time.

Naman had participated on KBC even previously and already won Rs. 1,60,000. He likes to be self-dependent like his father, and mentioned that they are financially stable but he would like the pay back his education loan on his own will. Working in the corporate sector, Naman was able to clear half of the loan already.
