The Balagam actress plays the female lead in Sri Simha Koduri's coming-of-age saga that releases on August 12
Kavya Kalyanram, who was a popular child actor in films like Gangotri, Balu, successfully transitioned into a lead with two hit films in her kitty - Balagam and Masooda. She is gearing up for her third release in a pivotal role, Ustaad, written and directed by Phanideep. She's paired opposite Sri Simha Koduri in the film that releases on August 12. The cast and crew of Ustaad was in Vijayawada to launch the trailer and interact with the media.
Expressing her happiness on working for the film, she said, "It's been great to launch the trailer amidst students in Vijayawada and noticing their response, encouraging, we've grown in confidence about the film. Thank you Vijayawada, you've been supportive. You won't be disappointed. We've come here to launch the trailer and we promise to return for the success meet, provided you like our work."
She stated the film tells the story of Surya who has acrophobia, the fear of heights and turns a pilot. "It's a coming of age tale, centring on his bike, focusing on the relationship with his single mother, friendships within a colony in a small town. It's also a film about love, inspiration. Many people get dissuaded from chasing their passions and are forced to chose a safer option or work in a software company."
Ustaad is a reminder to chase our dreams, Surya's journey will inspire everybody, Kavya mentioned. "It's a journey of a boy through his love and career." Sri Simha Koduri, recently seen in Bhaag Saale, called Ustaad a special film. "Every young, ambitious boy and girl will relate to it. I am confident you all will like it, please watch the film on August 12. You'll enjoy it."
Gautham Vasudev Menon, Anu Hasan, Ravindra Vijay, Venkatesh Maha, Ravi Siva Teja, Sai Kiran Yedida play other key roles in the film produced by Rajani Korrapati, Rakesh Reddy Gaddam and Himank Reddy Duvvuru. Akeeva B scores the music for the same and Pavan Kumar Pappula is the cinematographer.
