In a recently resurfaced interview with India Today, Katrina candidly spoke about the rigorous standards prevalent in the modelling world of the 2000s and how she relentlessly worked on herself to become a successful model.
During the interview, Katrina shared her experiences as a model and the criticism she faced for not fitting the industry's stereotypical standards. She revealed, “When I first started as a model, I struggled to get many ramp shows. People told me that I was too big, too curvy, and lacked proper posture. I realised it was a problem and decided to make efforts to improve myself.”
Katrina added, “Gradually, I started getting some shows, but even then, I often had just one change, which would be loose and oversized. I would closely observe other models who had multiple changes.”
Despite the harsh criticism, Katrina remained undeterred and focused on self-improvement. She stated, “I continued pushing forward and doing my thing. Eventually, I found success as a model. I am immensely grateful for my journey so far, as I have achieved more than I ever dreamed of. However, I often question when it's enough — when I can relax and feel accomplished.”
Speaking about the film industry, the actor added, “The film industry, like any other, is highly competitive. If you become complacent, there will always be someone who wants it more and may surpass you. Hence, I strive to remain grounded, never forgetting my humble beginnings, and consistently put in the effort.”
Katrina’s dedication and determination have catapulted her to become one of the highest-paid actresses in the Hindi film industry. Moreover, she has ventured into entrepreneurship and successfully launched her beauty and makeup brand, Kay Beauty, in 2019.
Looking ahead, Katrina has exciting projects lined up. She will be seen in Sriram Raghavan's Merry Christmas and the much-anticipated Tiger 3 alongside Salman Khan.
