Katrina Kaif birthday: Throwback to when Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan fought on her birthday, which divided Bollywood into two

Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan got into an all-out scrap in 2008 during Katrina Kaif’s birthday party.

Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan are two of the biggest names in Bollywood, which is known all too well for its glamour and glitz. However, every now and then, Bollywood pulls out a controversy from the magical hat, and it sticks around for some time. As Katrina Kaif celebrates her birthday today, one particular controversy does come to mind, which managed to divide Bollywood into two.

All the way back in 2008, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan got into an awful scrap while at Katrina’s birthday party. Shah Rukh and Katrina's then rumoured boyfriend, Salman, got into a heated war of words and had to be separated before it turned physical.

While there is still no proper answer as to why the Karan Arjun co-stars lost their cool at the party, there have been a few reports that suggest a reason or two. One of such reports says that Salman kept bugging Shah Rukh with regards to their reality shows Dus Ka Dum and Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hain?, respectively, saying that his show was doing better than Shah Rukh’s. This banter turned ugly when King Khan lost his cool and decided to involve Salman’s ex-girlfriend Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the argument.

Whatever the reason for their debacle was, the two Khans ended up avoiding each other for a long time to come. This incident also managed to divide the industry and fans into two camps. Fans decided to support their favourite stars at the time, despite knowing what had really gone down. The two actors, however, decided to make up in due time and have also since managed to joke about the scrap.

Salman and Shah Rukh were seen joking about their fight at the 2016 Star Screen Awards, saying that Shah Rukh was trying to get Salman married and the two ended up arguing about the perks of living their lives as it is.

"I told him that when I go home and see my wife, it gives me joy," Shah Rukh said jokingly, that it gives Salman even more joy when he goes home and does not have to see his wife.

The two superstars will now be seen working together once again, as Salman has a cameo in Pathaan while Shah Rukh will be seen making an appearance in Tiger 3.
