"People always tell us to speak up whenever something like this happens but honestly, when it happens your body gets numb and you pray that somehow you get saved," says Sanya.
Sanya Malhotra in Kathal
Sanya Malhotra has garnered immense praise and love for her performance in the latest social comedy film, Kathal. Apart from acting, the talented diva is currently gathering the attention of her fans due to a horrifying incident, which she recently recalled in a chat show and unveiled how she was harassed in the Delhi metro.
During a candid chat with Siddhaarth Aalambayan in a chat show called The Male Feminist, the stunning actor recalled the time she was eve teased by 4 to 5 men in a moving metro in Delhi as she was coming back from college.
Remembering the horror, Sanya shared, "I took the metro from Green Park as I was coming back from college and I was about to change it on Rajiv Chowk metro station. I was standing alone and there were 4, 5 men standing around me. And suddenly I got this feeling that something bad is going to happen to me as we all females get that vibe whenever this kind of situation arrives. After some time they started teasing and started touching. I tried to repel and stand firm but I felt very helpless as I was alone."
"I knew that if I spoke too much then something even worst can happen. People always tell us to speak up whenever something like this happens but honestly, when it happens your body gets numb and you pray that somehow you get saved. To my surprise, no one in the metro helped. I tried to fight as much as I can then I got out at Rajiv Chowk and ran. Thankfully due to the huge crowd of that station, I was able to leave them behind and then I called my father and told him to pick me up," soon after finishing her horrifying story, the actor got all teary-eyed.
Sanya's latest outing is available on Netflix.
