Chandu Champion actor Kartik Aaryan on rising film costs - 'If my fee was affecting film's journey...'
Kartik Aaryan has opened up about the debate about rising film costs. The Chandu Champion actor said he has taken a call on his remuneration if it has ever affected his film's budget.

Kartik Aaryan is gearing up for the release of his film Chandu Champion. The Bollywood actor has collaborated with Kabir Khan for the first time. Their project is scheduled for a theatrical release on June 14, 2024. Ahead of that, Kartik has been going out and about to promote his movie, which is based on Murlikant Petkar's (India's first Paralympic gold medalist) life. Kartik recently voiced his opinion on the debate about rising film costs amid promotions.
Kartik Aaryan on taking pay cut for films
In an interview with Hindustan Times, Kartik Aaryan revealed that he has taken a call on his remuneration if it has ever affected the film's budget. In the past, the actor took a pay cut for Shehzada and became the film's co-producer. This helped to control the film's budget.
The Bollywood actor mentioned that he didn't used to get a huge fee for films earlier. "When I got to the point where my fees could affect my film and if I got to know that it is affecting the film’s journey, then I took a call on my remuneration. My logic is you have to know the economics behind a film if it’s going to be profitable. If it won’t, then everybody should chip in to try and make things work," he said.

Kartik added that only one person can't be in the profitable zone. If that is the case, the actor believes it is wrong.

Meanwhile, Kartik Aaryan underwent a massive physical transformation for Chandu Champion. The actor learned three different sports for Kabir Khan's film - swimming, boxing, and wrestling. Kartik reduced his body fat to 7% from 39%. When Chandu Champion's trailer was released, people were impressed with Aaryan's dedication to the film. On several occasions, Kabir Khan has lauded Kartik for putting in a lot of efforts for the film.
