Kartik Aaryan in talks with Chak De India director Shimit Amin for a musical film

Shimit Amin, a director best recognized for his work on Shah Rukh Khan starrer 'Chak De India' and Ranbir Kapoor starrer 'Rocket Singh,' is getting ready to make a comeback with a musical. According to the reports, Amin has locked his next project after a protracted search and is in talks with Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan to play the lead role.

According to the reports by Pinkvilla, Amin is working on a historical drama that is also a musical. Kartik is one of the actors, in Shimit's opinion, who would perfectly fit the world of his historical musical. Kartik and he have met three to four times so far, and the actor has expressed interest in the project.

After 14 years, Shimit would be making his comeback to mainstream cinema with this film. He last directed episode 4 of The Suitable Boy, a Netflix series. Shimit is also working on a few other projects in addition to the historical musical, which he plans to bring up with producers during the discussion stage. "Shimit is kicked to make a return to direction with the best possible film," the source told the portal.

Kartik Aaryan's work front

Kartik Aaryan is currently filming Chandu Champion, his upcoming movie. The film is a sports drama directed by Kabir Khan, and will be filmed during the ensuing six months. Additionally, Kartik is also working on Aashiqui 3, directed by Anurag Basu. He will also appear in Hansal Mehta's Captain India.
