If the buzz is to be believed, the teaser of Karthi's upcoming film, Japan is all set to be out on October 18. The teaser will be screened along with Vijay's Leo in theatres, which will drop in theatres on October 19.

Japan teaser to be released at a grand audio launch
The audio launch of Karthi's upcoming film is gearing up for release in a grand event on October 28, which will be held at Nehru Stadium, Chennai. Japan is Karthi's 25th film and hence, the team has decided to celebrate it in a grand manner. Music for Japan by GV Prakash Kumar. There is a buzz that Karthi's elder brother and Kanguva star Suriya might attend the event, if he wraps the shoot for the Thailand schedule before that.
First single on October 14
Meanwhile, the first single is all set to be out this weekend on October 14. The buzz is that the teaser of Sivakarthikeyan's Pongal release, Ayalaan, will also be attached with Leo. Japan is directed by Raju Murugan and has Anu Emmanuel as the leading lady. Sunil and Vijay Milton are also part of the star cast. Cinematography for the film is by Ravi Varman and editing is by Philomin Raj. Japan is produced by SR Prabhu's Dream Warrior Productions.

Japan inspired by a real story
The film is said to be based on the life of Tiruvarur Murugan, who planned a series of robberies in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, including a high-profile jewellery showroom theft. Murugan, who was a HIV patient, was nursed back to health after he was nabbed by the Bengaluru police.
In police custody, Murugan helped the department solve many crimes that involved him. He passed away due to ill health. We hear that Karthi had requested the team to include the HIV part as well to maintain the authenticity of the story.
