Meiyazhagan first review OUT: Karthi shares Suriya's emotional reaction after watching Arvind Swamy-starrer

Actors Karthi and Arvind Swamy who played the leads are waiting for the release of their film Meiyazhagan. The film is scheduled to hit theatres on September 27. The film is directed by Prem Kumar of 96 fame and is one of the most expected films this week.

With the team promoting the film, Karthi revealed the reaction he received from the actor and his brother Suriya after watching Meiyazhagan. Suriya has produced the film under his banner 2D Entertainment.

Karthi reveals Suriya’s reaction after watching Meiyazhagan

Actor Karthi and Arvind Swamy will be seen sharing the screen space for the first time in the upcoming film Meiyazhagan. Scheduled to hit theatres on September 27, the film is directed by Prem Kumar who earlier made 96. The team of Meiyazhagan is currently in Dubai, promoting their film.

In one such promotional event, Karthi revealed the first reaction his brother and actor Suriya had after watching the film. Suriya and Jyothika are bankrolling the film under the banner of 2D Entertainment. “After watching this film, he came home while I was eating. He simply hugged me and I think I got this reaction from him after Paruthiveeran. It is very special,” Karthi mentioned.

Karthi also revealed how Suriya visited the sets of Meiyazhagan one night, since most of the shoots took place overnight, which attracted the crowd.

Meiyazhagan is a film that follows two men, and the events that happen overnight. The film is touted to be a family drama and also stars Sri Divya and Rajkiran. Speaking with OTTplay, Prem Kumar said, “If 96 made you cry in sadness, Meiyazhagan will bring you happy tears.”

The film has music by Govind Vasantha and Mahendiran Jayaraju has cranked the camera. R Govindaraj is the editor of the film. The teaser of the film was released recently, which hints that the film will be emotional and full of dramatic moments.
