Karthi, Aparna Balamurali to team up for M Muthaiah’s next film

The duo will be coming together for the first time in the Komban director film, which is produced by Suriya and Jyotika,

After impressing the Tamil audience with her performance as Bommi in Suriya’s Soorarai Potru last year, Aparna Balamurali will next be teaming up with Karthi for the first time in their upcoming movie directed by M Muthaiah.

The director had earlier worked with Karthi in the 2015 rural drama, Komban. The upcoming project will be produced by Suriya and Jyotika under the banner of 2D Entertainment.

Aparna’s upcoming movies in Malayalam include Prithviraj’s Aadujeevitham and Ula, which is directed by Praveen Prabharam. The first look of her character in Ula was released earlier that portrayed her in a dreamy avatar.

Suriya and Jyotika had earlier bankrolled Karthi’s Kadaikutty Singam and the upcoming project will mark his second time under the banner. He is currently working on Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan, in which he will be portraying the character of Vandhiyathevan. He will be seen romancing Trisha in the multi-starrer, produced jointly under the banners of Lyca Productions and Madras Talkies.

Karthi also has the upcoming movie Sardar, in which he will be playing a dual role, one of them as an elderly man. The movie will be directed by PS Mithran, who had earlier helmed Irumbu Thirai. The movie also features Raashi Khanna and Rajisha Vijayan in important roles. The official motion poster of the movie was released some time ago with Karthi sporting a Godfather-like appearance.
