Vaa Vaathiyaar
We had earlier reported that actor Karthi and filmmaker Nalan Kumarasamy would be collaborating on a project titled Vaa Vaathiyaar. While the makers have not officially announced the release date of the film, speculations suggest that the team is looking to release Vaa Vaathiyaar for Pongal 2025.
Karthi who was last seen in Japan, has several projects in the pipeline. One of them is his 26th film titled Vaa Vaathiyaar. The film is directed by filmmaker Nalan Kumarasamy, who has helmed films like Soodhu Kavvum and Kadhalum Kadandhu Pogum. The team had released the first look poster of the film.
Now, as per the latest reports, Karthi's Vaa Vaathiyaar is gearing up for Pongal 2025 release in January. However, an official announcement on the release has not yet been made. Karthi’s last outing was Japan which did not do well at the box office or critically. The actor will be next seen in Meiyazhagan, which is scheduled to release on September 27. The film is directed by 96-fame Prem Kumar, and co-stars Arvind Swamy, Sri Divya and Rajkiran. If rumours are true, Karthi is also said to be making a cameo appearance in his brother and actor Suriya’s upcoming film Kanguva. Karthi is expected to make an appearance towards the climax, and have full fledged role in the sequel.
Backed by KE Gnanavelraja under his banner Studio Green, Vaa Vaathiyaar marks the first time Nalan will be working with actor Karthi. Apart from him, the film also stars Krithi Shetty, Rajkiran, Sathyaraj, GM Kumar, and others.
The technical crew of the upcoming film includes Santhosh Narayanan, who scores the music, with George C Williams cranking the camera. Vetre Krishnan is the editor and DRK Kiran is the art director. Vaa Vaathiyaar is expected to be a comedy entertainer, given the filmmaker’s body of work.
