Kareena Kapoor Khan is not just an incredible Bollywood actress but also a doting mother. She, even at the age of 42, knows the art of striking the right balance between her personal and professional life. However, her journey in the industry has not been an easy one.
The controversy surrounding Taimur’s name
Recently, while interacting with the news portal The Indian Express, Kareena shared how she felt when her child, Taimur, was attacked online over his name being allegedly related to a particular community. Adding further the ‘Jab We Met’ actress shared how she howled in the hospital bed for hours when her son (who was barely a year old) was being threatened to death.
“What was the reason… I still don’t really get it, because nobody is meant to offend anyone or do anything. I think we have freedom of speech, freedom of what we want to do, at least both Saif (Ali Khan; Kareena’s husband) and I believe that very strongly,” she said.

Kareena Kapoor details the ‘real’ meaning of Taimur
The 42-year-old Bollywood diva said that Taimur means ‘iron man’, and that she liked the sound of that. She then shared that Taimur was actually the name of Saif’s first childhood friend. “When we came up with the name… Saif actually said… He grew up with a neighbour friend, and he always really liked his name and his name was Taimur, so he said, ‘You know, if I have a son, he was my first friend. I’d like to name him Taimur’, and that’s exactly how Taimur was named, because he was Saif’s first friend when he was living in town here,” Kareena expressed.
On the work front, Kareena is looking forward to her Netflix debut with the film Jaane Jaan. It is a mystery thriller directed by Sujoy Ghosh and is slated to be released digitally on September 21.
