Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor will soon be seen in Koffee With Karan season 7. The behind-the-scenes photographs of the actor smoking a pipe are doing the rounds. Meanwhile, their film Laal Singh Chaddha is all set to release in August. While promoting the film, Kareena Kapoor talked about the success stories of South Indian films in a recent interview.
Kareena said that the reason for the success of the south films lies in the stories. “The reason for this success of South Indian films is good stories. I have noticed the storylines of Baahubali, RRR, and Pushpa are all very strong,” said the actress adding that the South films do not entice the audience just by item songs.
The 3 Idiots actress also talked about the presence of the OTT platforms and how those platforms have changed the scene in the entertainment industry. Kareena said that after the pandemic a wide range of content is just a click away. She further added that the audiences are now used to sitting at home. “We all know that all the big releases will soon come on OTT platforms. And hence, it will be difficult to bring the audience back to theatres without good content and family dramas,” she said.
Talking about working with Aamir Khan after 3 Idiots and Talaash, Kareena said that she is honoured to be a part of Laal Singh Chaddha. She also elaborated on how Aamir becomes the character of the film. She further added that Forrest Gump is one of her favourite films and her character Rupa in the official remake is the heart of the film. Kareena explained that Aamir took more than four hours to narrate the script to her. The actress went through auditions and screen tests. “Aamir doesn't see a film just as a ‘project’. Even if a film doesn’t make a mark at the box office, his performance leaves an impression,” the actress said.
