The film opened in Indian theaters on September 13, but had a modest box office performance and received mixed reviews, which kept some viewers away from theaters.

Addressing the box office response, Kareena Kapoor shared with Indian Express: “Each film has a different audience, especially in today's time. The audience that's going to watch Singham Again is obviously not the audience for The Buckingham Murders. It’s more English, cerebral, an indie kind of movie. Jaane Jaan on Netflix, for instance, has a different audience than Crew. Understanding how to balance that, I think, is something I have learned to do.”
