Sharmaji Namkeen is Rishi Kapoor’s final film, and is set to release on Amazon Prime Video on March 31.
The makers of Sharmaji Namkeen released the movie’s trailer today. Amazon Prime Video also shared a video yesterday, where the late Rishi Kapoor’s son, Ranbir Kapoor talks about his father.
Now, Kareena Kapoor Khan has shared this video in memory of the legendary late actor. Khan shared the video on the Instagram stories feature, and wrote, “In fond memory”, with the hashtag #ChintuUncle.
In the video titled The Show Must Go On, Ranbir said, “'You must have heard ‘The show must go on’, but I’ve seen Papa live his life. Sharmaji Namkeen will always be one of my fondest memories of my father. Up on screen, bringing a smile to his countless fans.''
Sharmaji Namkeen is the final feature film of the late Rishi Kapoor. Directed and co-written by Hitesh Bhatia, the drama follows a middle class retiree who finds a new passion in cooking.
Paresh Rawal was brought in to finish the film following the demise of Kapoor. The film also stars Juhi Chawla, Suhail Nayyar, Taaruk Raina, Isha Talwar, Sheeba Chadha and Ayesha Raza Mishra.
The movie is bankrolled by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment in association with filmmaker Honey Trehan and Abhishek Choubey under their banner MacGuffin Pictures.
Rishi Kapoor passed away in April 2020 at the age of 67, after fighting leukaemia for two years. Sharmaji Namkeen which will be an emotional film for his many fans, is set to release on Amazon Prime Video on March 31.
