Excerpts from our free-wheeling conversation...

On not wanting to get married against his parents' wishes

When asked if he is team or love or team arranged, Karan said, "(Consdering) where I come from, I think you have to find a balance because I would never want to get married against my parents' wishes. (It shouldn't be like) ki main toh khush hoon, aap pareshan hote raho (that I am happy but you face problems). The first reason for getting married will be if I am in love and if the person is in love with me. So, I am truly half-love, half-arranged."

On societal pressure to settle down in life

Continuing the chat, Karan opened up about whether he ever felt parental or societal pressure to get married.

The actor admitted, "Personally, I haven't had pressure from my parents. But talking about the societal issues... when we would pass 12th grade, everyone had issues about what we would do in life. I think it is a circle of life. After a certain age, everyone has only one question, 'when will you get married?'. It happens a lot and it happens even now. But I feel when my parents don't have an issue, toh fir puchne do logo ko (let people ask)."

"I've become very used to it and I am like kar lenge. And when they ask kab karoge (when will you get married), I laugh it off saying kar lenge. Thankfully, my parents have been very supportive. I am the only child of my parents. I've been staying away from them for 20 years now. Now, we have done a nice thing that we communicate a lot and we speak our minds to each other. I think that is what has helped me not to worry about it," said Wahi while signing off.
