Karan Johar to direct a big-budget web series
If reports are to be believed Karan Johar's OTT debut web series will feature a star-studded ensemble of celebrated female actors. The script of the series is finalized and the production is all set to begin in early 2025. The series is yet to be titled but it has already generated excitement among the fans given his history in delivering blockbusters at the box office.
Karan is busy with the show already and is excited about making his big debut in the digital world. Talking about the same, a source said that the team is now busy in the casting process of the series and they are planning to bring together an ensemble of renowned actors. Being a Karan Johar show, the web series is considered to be Netflix's most ambitious upcoming project. It will be shot throughout 2025 and is set to stream in 2026," the source added.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Karan Johar is currently busy promoting his upcoming and one of the most-anticipated films of the year, 'Jigra'. The film stars Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina in the lead roles and follows the story of an elder sister ready to go through dangerous ways to protect his younger brother who is in jail. The film is directed by Vasan Bala and is produced by produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Alia Bhatt, Shaheen Bhatt, and Somen Mishra.
