Karan Johar was talking to the media at the success meet of his film ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ when he revealed that he had gone bra shopping for his mother
Ever since the time Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ had got announced, it had been making news for all the right reasons. within no time, the film went onto become one of the most awaited films of the recent times. The first reason for the same was because the film marked Karan Johar’s return to direction after a long gap of five years. This was followed by the film’s stellar star cast which comprised of Ranveer Singh and Alia bhatt in the lead roles. The icing on the cake was the rest of the cast, which included Bollywood’s original ‘He Man’ Dharmendra, the gracious Jaya Bachchan and the eternal Shabana Azmi.
There was a media meet which had happened yesterday in order to celebrate the runaway success of the film. As always, there was the typical question and answer round between the stars (including Karan Johar) and the media. And with Ranveer Singh and Karan Johar under one roof, can there be any dull moment! Well… the answer is no. Karan Johar opened up about one of the film’s key scenes, the one where Rocky (Ranveer Singh's character) goes bra shopping with Churni Ganguly, who plays Rani's (Alia Bhatt) mother.
Speaking about the same, Karan Johar said, “It was never a taboo topic. I have gone shopping for her (mother) to buy a bra. It's never been a problem with me but I do know that while it did it, my friends who were with me were horrified. They wondered why I did not designate this job to a female friend. And I was like 'Why? It has been asked by my mother and why will I send somebody else to do it?'"
In the same conversation, Karan Johar added, "My mother is 81 years old and when she needs something then I have to go and buy what she wants. It could be a bra or any other item. For me, that seemed and felt organic also because I knew there's discomfort around”.
As for Karan Johar, only recently, he announced his next venture, which has been titled ‘Kill’. The film is being directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat and stars Lakshya Lalwani as the main lead. Speaking of Lakshya Lalwani, readers may recall that, he was supposed to make his Bollywood debut with ‘Bedhadak’ alongside Shanya Kapoor and Gurfateh Pirzada. But, for some reasons, the film got shelved.
