Karan Johar is all set for the seventh season of his popular and controversial talk show Koffee With Karan, which will begin streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from July 7 with Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt as its first guests. While the guest list is long, a rumour that has been doing rounds is that the filmmaker has managed to pull off a coup and land Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan together on the show.

The director in a recent interview offered a clarification on whether the trio, who had attended his 50th birthday party together, will also appear as guests.

“No, they are not coming together,” Karan said, shooting down the rumours. He further went on to add that he doesn’t have the power to rope in the three superstars. “I can get them to a party, not on the show. I can’t manage two also of this triumvirate (sic),” he said.

The past week has been all about the Khans coming together, especially SRK and Salman, who are rumoured to be part of a big budget movie that will be made by Aditya Chopra. Though the duo is starring in cameo roles in each other’s movies – including the upcoming films Pathaan and Tiger, if the touted project materialises, it would mark the first time they would be starring in full-length roles in a movie after Karan Arjun.

Meanwhile, Karan Johar also talked about a specific condition that Ranbir had put out if he were to appear as a guest on Koffee with Karan. The director said the Shamshera actor teases him saying, “You pay me what you are getting and I will come”.

Karan said he respects that and just because the celebs are his friends, it doesn’t mean they have to appear on the show. “I will never pressurise anybody… if you come half-heartedly, it’s going to be counterproductive,” he said.
