Karan Johar calls Jawan a ‘blockbuster’: 'Can’t wait' to watch Shah Rukh Khan’s action film

Popular filmmaker Karan Johar has heaped praises on Atlee’s directorial Jawan ahead of its theatrical release.

Woah! The official prevue of Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan has dropped today, and it has been hailed by none other than popular filmmaker Karan Johar. Interestingly, this is a rare occasion when Karan Johar – the owner of Dharma Productions – has hailed a film produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s production house – Red Chillies Entertainment.

In an Instagram Story today, Karan Johar attached the prevue of Jawan and wrote, “This is going to be a juggernaut of a blockbuster! And, Atlee, you have done it again! Wow, can’t wait! #Jawan” He even tagged megastars Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Vijay Sethupathi and producer Gauri Khan in the same Story.

With this development, the buzz around the project has soared tremendously.

Jawan is an upcoming action thriller film written and directed by Atlee, in his first Hindi film. It stars Shah Rukh Khan, alongside Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Deepika Padukone, Sanya Malhotra, and Priyamani as well. The music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander.

The shooting of the movie began in 2021. Initially, Jawan was slated to be released on June 2, 2023, but was postponed because of post-production necessities. The movie is now scheduled for theatrical release on September 7, 2023, coinciding with Janmashtami.

On July 8, Shah Rukh Khan alerted his fans and well-wishers that the prevue of Jawan will be dropped today. In a tweet, the Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998) actor wrote, “मैं पुण्य हूँ या पाप हूँ?... मैं भी आप हूँ... Main punya hoon ya paap hoon?... Main bhi aap hoon… #JawanPrevueOn10July #Jawan releasing worldwide on 7th September 2023, in Hindi, Tamil & Telugu.” The text appearing on the video read, "Jawan prevue at 10:30 am on July 11, Ready ah?"

The film is Shah Rukh's second film of the year after the success of Pathaan.
