In interesting news, Karan Johar announced that his home banner Dharma Productions and Fox Star Studios have acquired the rights to the recent hit Malayalam film, Hridayam. Not only in Hindi, the film will also be remade in Tamil and Telugu languages by the filmmaker. The original film, directed by Vineeth Srinivasan, featured Pranav Mohanlal, Darshana Rajendran, and Kalyani Priyadarshan in the lead roles.
The statement read, "Dharma Productions and Fox Star Studios have acquired the rights to a beautiful coming-of-age love story, Hridayam (Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu) from the world of Malayalam cinema. On January 21, 2022, Hridayam was launched in theatres all around the world. The film was a critical and commercial triumph, grossing more than Rs 50 crore worldwide.
The film's post-theatrical digital distribution was acquired by Disney+ Hotstar, and it premiered on February 18, 2022.
