Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas are jointly producing the film helmed by Shourie Chandrasekhar Ramesh
Anna Ben and Roshan Mathew starrer Kappela, currently streaming on Netflix, was one of the most critically acclaimed Malayalam films in the recent years. The much celebrated film is getting a Telugu remake now. The remake is titled Butta Bomma in Telugu, named after the popular song from Allu Arjun’s Ala Vaikunthapurramulo. Leading Telugu banner Sithara Entertainments is tying up with filmmaker Trivikram’s production house Fortune Four Cinemas.
Shourie Chandrasekhar Ramesh is on board as the director for the film. Popular child actress Anikha Surendran, who was part of films like Yennai Arindhaal, Viswasam and the web series Queen, is making her debut as a lead with Butta Bomma. Noted Tamil actor Arjun Das and Surya Vasishta play other key roles in the remake. Gopi Sundar has been roped in as the composer with Vamsi Patchipulusu cranking the camera. Varudu Kaavalenu-fame writer Ganesh Ravuri has come up with the dialogues.
While announcing the film, the team also released the first look of Butta Bomma. In the poster, Anikha Surendran sporting an innocent expression is looking through a window. Navya Swami, Narra Srinu, Pammi Sai, Karthik Prasad, Vasu Inturi, Mirchi Kiran, Kancharapalem Kishore, Madhumani form the supporting the cast. The makers share that the shoot of Butta Bomma will be wrapped this September. They are aiming to release the film in November.
The director Shourie Chandrasekhar Ramesh, in a media statement, calls Butta Bomma a realistic love story set amidst a village backdrop. He is confident that the remake will tug at the heart strings of audiences and have an engrossing screenplay. Vivek Annamalai and Navin Nooli are the production designer and the editor for the film respectively. CH Ramakrishna Reddy is the production controller.
