Kapil Sharma is one of the best Indian comedians. The ace comedian's journey from television to OTT space has been incredible. He hosted The Kapil Sharma Show for a few seasons on TV. After enjoying a successful run on the small screen, Kapil shifted his focus to the OTT medium earlier this year. He introduced his show The Great Indian Kapil Show on Netflix. And now, Sharma has confirmed The Great Indian Kapil Show's second season.
Kapil Sharma shared an update about The Great Indian Kapil Show 2 on his official Instagram handle. He posted a photo of a bouquet and gave a sneak peek of his show's star cast. Sharing the picture, Kapil wrote, "The Great Indian Kapil Show season 2 is on the way (sic)." If you haven't seen his IG story yet, check it out right below:
Earlier, in an official statement, Kapil spoke about continuing his collaboration with Netflix. The comedian said, "Collaborating with Netflix for the Great Indian Kapil Show has been a fulfilling experience and on that note, we promise not to keep our audience waiting for too long for the next season." The final episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show was streamed on June 22, 2024.
The first season's cast included Archana Puran Singh, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda and Rajiv Thakur. Sunil Grover let bygones be bygones and reunited with Kapil for his comedy show.
As per media reports, Krushna Abhishek charged Rs 10 lakh per episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show. As for Sunil, he reportedly earned 25 lakh while Kapil was apparently paid Rs 5 crore. Kiku Sharda and Rajiv Thakur were rumoured to be paid Rs 7 lakh and Rs 6 lakh respectively per episode. On the other hand, Archana Puran Singh took home Rs 10 lakh per episode.
