The Punjabi singer-politician was shot dead by unidentified assailants on May 29
Comedian Kapil Sharma began his North American tour with a memorable concert at Vancouver, where he paid tribute to the late singer Sidhu Moose Wala. In his first concert of his Canada-USA tour, the comedian performed to a packed house in British Columbia and one of its highlights was him honoring some of the celebs who had passed away last year.
As fans cheered wildly, Kapil rendered Sidhu Moose Wala’s popular track ‘295’ as photos of celebs such as singer KK, Deep Sidhu and Kabaddi player Sandeep Singh were displayed with the caption, “Legends Live Forever”. Sidhu Moose Wala’s image was also among the photographs displayed and received much cheer from the audience. The track ‘295’ had climbed to 154th spot earlier this month after the death of the singer.
Fans, who were holding placards and posters of the celebs who had passed away, also appreciated the gesture from Kapil and team. After Kapil had shared the highlights of the concert on his social media page, Archana Puran Singh’s husband Parmeet Sethi commented, “Kya baat hai Kapil”, agreeing to the unanimous response the concert received in Vancouver.
The month-long tour will have Kapil and team visiting USA and Canada for a month, along with Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Chandan Prabhakar, Rajiv Thakur, Sumona Chakravarti and others. The tour means that the popular The Kapil Sharma Show is currently put on hold till the team returns.
Meanwhile, Sidhu Moose Wala’s another song was in the news during the weekend after YouTube had taken down the video of his track SYL, following a complaint by the Central government. The song, which was released a few days ago, had got about 2.7 crore views in three days. The track’s lyrics raises several issues stemming from the Sutlej-Yamuna Link canal including the 1984 riots, militancy as well as the flag hoisting in Delhi during the 2020 farmer agitation.
