Co-incidentally, Raju’s last act on TV was The Kapil Sharma Show. He appeared on the show from 2016 to 2017.
In 2017, Raju also gave his last film in Akshay Kumar-Bhumi Pednekar’s Toilet: Ek Prem Katha. The actor has previously been a part of films like Tezaab, Maine Pyar Kiya, Baazigar and Aamdani Atthani Kharcha Rupaiyaa.
Raju is, however, best remembered for his stand-up acts, mainly during The Great Indian Laughter Challenge. Titled ‘The King Of Comedy,’ Raju was the second runner-up on the show. His colleague Sunil Pal won the trophy.
Meanwhile, Kapil Sharma, who also started getting noticed after The Great Indian Laughter Challenge, is awaiting the release of his film Zwigato. He is also coming back with his TV show, The Kapil Sharma Show. Whether Kapil would pay a tribute to Raju on the show and how, is yet to be known.
Raju Srivastava was being treated at AIIMS after he had a heart attack on August 10. His cremation would be held in Delhi’s Nigambodh Ghat on Thursday morning.
