Rishab Shetty’s Kantara has been in theatres for two weeks (in its original Kannada version). The dubbed versions are coming out this weekend, and the film has caught the nation’s imagination and how. Everyone who’s seen Kantara has only got good things to say about it. Even when there are mentions of shortcomings, it is always followed by how the last 30-odd minutes of the film make up for all of it. Netizens are not only all praise for the film, but for Rishab too, who has acted in the lead in his latest directorial. A performance deserving of the highest recognition in the country, they reckon.

No wonder, then, that stars across the country, who have seen the film, have also not been holding back on showering Rishab and his film with love. From the filmmaker’s buddy Rakshit Shetty, to stars like Prabhas, Prithviraj, Sudeep, etc. many have had glowing words for Kantara. Even veteran filmmaker Allu Aravind said he was mesmerized, especially with the climax. Joining this long list of Kantara fans is Tamil superstar Dhanush. He wrote, “Kantara .. Mind blowing !! A must watch .. Rishab Shetty , you should be very proud of yourself. Congratulations hombale films .. keep pushing the boundaries. A big hug to all the actors and technicians of the film. Kantara, which is expected to get into the Rs 100-crore club (for its Kannada version) this weekend, opened in Hindi with 2500+ odd screens. Telugu version releases on October 15, Tamil on October 16 and Malayalam on October 20. In Kerala, Kantara will clash with Mohanlal’s Monster at the box office. The film has the distinction of being the highest grossing Kannada movie in north India.
