Sapthami Gowda has knocked off some pounds and is looking fit and fab for her film with Nithiin, for which she has also taken horse-riding lessons
Sapthami Gowda, who in her fledgeling career has already found national fame for being a part of Kantara and made her Bollywood debut with The Vaccine War, is now gearing up to step into the Telugu film industry. Sapthami will be paired with Nithiin in director Venu Sriram’s film, for which the actress has changed up her workout regime and lost weight too.
Speaking to Power TV News, Sapthami said that she re-started a fitness regime that she’d given up on for nearly two years. The actress, who was a much-feted state-level swimmer during her school days, has returned to training how she used to as a competitive athlete, which has given her a more toned physique.
Did you know Kantara girl Sapthami Gowda is a National gold medalist in swimming?
Although a recent video that she posted on social media hints at a heavy-duty regime, Sapthami says that’s not the case and that she does about an hour of intense workout three days a week only. On the other days, she manages with a walk or some basic exercises depending on the time she can spare.

The weight loss works out perfectly for her Telugu film, a role for which she had to get in shape and even take horse-riding lessons. It’s a character with different shades, is all she says, adding that she will begin shooting for it shortly.
As for the launch that she is getting in Tollywood, Sapthami says that she has been lucky in her career so far, beginning in Kannada with director Suri and actor Dhananjaya, then heading to Bollywood with director Vivek Agnihotri and now in Telugu with Venu Sriram, for a film produced by noted producer Dil Raju. It’s a great debut venture, she reckons.
The actress, who is currently basking in the success of Yuva, is, however, keen to do a lot more interesting work in Kannada cinema. She had been earlier announced for a film with Abishek Ambareesh, to be directed by cinematographer-filmmaker Krishna, but there's been no update about this project for a while.
