The success of Kantara has managed to bridge many cultural and linguistic gaps across the country. Thanks to the fact that the film was dubbed and released in multiple Indian languages and that too to an overwhelming response, Kannada Cinema has now begun to command the same kind of regard and respect that most other film industries do. And with an entity like Hombale Films leading this change, so to speak, from the front, many exciting cross-cultural collaborations have cropped up over the past few months - one such being the involving Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil.
Fahadh, known to be one of the most prolific and talented actors in the business today, is currently working with Hombale Films on the multilingual thriller Dhoomam, which is being written and directed by Pawan Kumar of Lucia fame. While the production of Dhoomam is underway, the Malik actor squeezed out some time to meet with the team of Kantara ahead of the grand OTT launch of the Kannada film. A couple of glimpses of Fahadh Faasil's rendezvous with Rishab Shetty, the man of the moment, producer Vijay Kirangadur, and Kantara's lead actress Sapthami Gowda are currently doing the rounds of the internet.
"A Delightful evening with the two Gems!" wrote Kiragandur in his tweet as he shared a picture featuring Rishab Shetty, Fahadh Faasil, and himself.
And for Sapthami Gowda, the occasion turned out to be extra special as she got the opportunity to meet Fahadh Faasil, apparently one of her all-time favourite actors. The actress took to social media recently to share the picture she clicked with Fahadh whom she endearingly referred to as 'FaFa' in her tweet.
"Fahadh Faasil #fafa
That’s it. ❤️🧿 Also my fav thing to hear from sir was
When asked sir what is it that changed for you after the break you took after the first movie ?
He said, Love. Love for everything ❤️🥺" wrote Sapthami in her tweet.
Dhoomam will be Hombale Films' second Malayalam venture after Tyson, which will be directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran. Dhoomam also stars Aparna Balamurali and the film went on floors in the first week of November.
In other developments, Kantara had its digital premiere on Amazon Prime Video on November 24 and members can stream the film in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam: the Hindi version of the film, on the other hand, will reportedly be available on Netflix instead.
