Kanguva - ‘Yet another 7am Arivu and Kashmora,’ Suriya’s second-look poster disappoints Redditors

Suriya-starrer Kanguva, directed by Siruthai Siva, became the talk of the town ever since the second-look poster from the film was unveiled earlier today. Although the period fantasy film was hailed by Twitterati, the poster has been receiving mixed to negative reactions from Redditors. The users of the app have been highly disappointed with the new poster and have been calling it ‘yet another 7am Arivu and Kashmora’.

One user wrote, “Well, there goes all my excitement, I was hoping for a long epic about a warrior surviving in the jungle and mountains. Looks like it's going to be a 40 minute flashback” (sic).

Another user slammed the poster for having another ‘modern and past life’ story angle. Many users felt that the poster was a rip-off of the gaming series Assassin's Creed. Check out some of the reactions from the netizens:

The latest poster unveiled by the makers of the film showcases the dual looks of the Jai Bhim actor from the film. One of the characters resembles an ancient Vikings-like figure, who seems to be a warrior. The character also has heavily tattooed arms and is surrounded by two huge wings. The other character, seen more prominently on the poster, appears to be a new-age person who is seen donning a white shirt with a slick hairdo.

Although the poster impressed the fans of Suriya on Twitter, it left the redditors hugely disappointed, who were expecting a full-fledged period action fantasy film. However, according to latest reports, the historical references are rumoured to be around for lesser duration in the film, where Suriya will be seen essaying six different roles in the film.

Kanguva is slated to be released in 10 languages and will also feature Bollywood actors Bobby Deol and Disha Patani in their Tamil debut with this movie. Producers K E Gnanavel Raja, V Vamsi Krishna Reddy, and Pramod Uppalapati are financing the film under the banner of Studio Green and UV Creations.
