Headlined by Suriya, Kanguva is a big-budget fantasy action film directed by filmmaker Siruthai Siva
With the makers of Kanguva unveiling a glimpse from the film recently, the fantasy action movie has become one of the most ambitious projects in Suriya's career so far. Now, reports suggest that Kanguva is set to get a sequel, much to the delight of the actor's fans. The team is now shooting a small portion for the same.

Headlined by Suriya, Kanguva is a big-budget fantasy action film directed by filmmaker Siruthai Siva. The film is produced by Studio Green. In a recent interview, Dhananjayan of Studio Green said, “"The shooting for the film has been completed, and we are only shooting for about three days, which will be a lead on to the sequel. However, the shooting for Kanguva is over. Once the three days are over, we will be completely done. Now, we are concentrating on the dubbing across languages. We firmly believe that Siruthai Siva will be hence called Kanguva Siva. He is going to earn a great name and he has put so much efforts in the film.”
While the film will release in 10 languages, including international during its theatrical release, it will be available in 20 languages for its streaming debut. Prime Video has bagged the rights. Kanguva is one of the most ambitious projects in Suriya’s career and is yet to get an official release date. However, it looks like the film will see release in the later half of 2024 along with other big budget films like GOAT, Indian 2, Vettaiyan and Vidaa Muyarchi.
Kanguva marks Siva and Suriya’s first film together and also stars Bobby Deol and Disha Patani. It has music by Devi Sri Prasad. Touted to be a fantasy action film, Kanguva’s narrative will traverse 500 years, which raises the expectations of its production values and sequel.
Meanwhile, after Kanguva, Suriya will be working on two films. While Suriya 43 will be helmed by Sudha Kongara, the actor will join hands for Suriya 44 with filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj.
