The curtains were lifted on Sunday, offering a glimpse into the world of the upcoming film Kanguva, set in a prehistoric era. The teaser hints at Tamil superstar Suriya portraying the role of a prehistoric tribe leader. The opening scene showcases a battlefield strewn with men resembling characters from mythology, except without magical abilities. Nevertheless, the story holds a mythical allure.

The teaser introduces us to a formidable warrior, hailing from a legendary lineage of warriors. Kanguva narrates the folk tale of a man burdened with the weight of living up to his ancestors' great achievements. Despite this pressure, the protagonist appears to have earned enough acclaim to be celebrated in the songs of his forefathers.

Achievements like hunting white tigers, taming mighty tuskers, and instilling fear in his enemies have all contributed to Kangaa's fame. The necklace adorned with a hundred tiger nails stands as a testament to his extraordinary physical prowess.

Set in prehistoric times when tribalism and the law of the jungle prevailed, the film allows Suriya to delve into his primal emotions while portraying Kanguva. Kindness, equality, and chivalry find no place in this harsh world where strength rules over the weak. The setting presents an ideal backdrop for filmmakers to explore an era when violence was not condemned but embraced as a virtue. Intellectual solutions to problems, such as territorial disputes or resource distribution, were absent from the political imagination of the time and might equal right.

The unique backdrop of Kanguva stands as an uncharted territory in Tamil and Indian cinema, piquing curiosity. Suriya's savage portrayal of a warrior fueled by an insatiable thirst for blood and battle promises a visually striking experience.

The filmmakers have revealed that Kanguva is the most ambitious project in the careers of directors Siva and Suriya, and it also marks Suriya's most expensive production to date.

Kanguva stars Disha Patani as the female lead. And the filmmakers are yet to reveal her character look in the movie.

The production of Kanguva is fast nearing completion and it's set to arrive in cinemas early next year.
