Sandwiched between the releases of two of the most-anticipated films in the country – Suriya’s Kanguva and Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule, the makers of four Malayalam movies will be hoping to sell as many tickets as possible within the short window they have.
While Kanguva, which will hit a record number of screens on November 14, will see a huge spike in theatres if the word of mouth is positive. The next big release, Pushpa 2, would follow in less than a month, December 5 to be exact. This leaves movies such as Aishwarya Lekshmi and Sharafudheen’s supernatural fantasy-comedy Hello Mummy, which is currently slotted to hit theatres on November 21, and Basil Joseph and Nazriya Nazim’s Sookshmadarshini, just about two weeks to maximize their revenue – even if they get good to decent reviews.
Here’s a list of all the Malayalam movies that will release in theatres on the third week of November 2024, and why each of them could pack a surprise.

Directed by debutant Vaishakh Elans and scripted by Sanjo Joseph, the movie didn’t make much noise throughout its production but after the makers released the trailer of Hello Mummy, the viewers were excited about its premise. The film revolves around Stephy and Bony, with the former explaining to him that her mother doesn’t approve of him and she wants to drop out of the relationship. The only problem was that her mother had passed away. Melding supernatural elements and humor, the film could be a perfect foil for the family audience.
