The latest report suggests that the third instalment of Kangana Ranaut and R Madhavan's Tanu Weds Manu is in the making. The film will be a blend of humor with romance and drama.
Kangana Ranaut and R Madhavan starrer Tanu Weds Manu and Tanu Weds Manu Returns are two of the most acclaimed films of them. After the second part, fans have been wanting the third instalment for so long. Now, a recent report suggests that the filmmaker Aanand L Rai and his writing partner, Himanshu Sharma are returning with Tanu Weds Manu 3 as they have locked the plot.
As per a Pinkvilla report, Kangana Ranaut and R Madhavan will be again seen in the much-awaited Tanu Weds Manu 3. Much to the fans' delight, Kangana will be portraying triple roles in the film.
The source added, “It’s a sequel in a true sense and the makers have come across a story that organically leads itself to a trilogy. Staying true to the world of parts one and two, the third installment too will be a blend of humor with romance and drama. The basic idea is locked by Aanand L Rai and the intent is to take the film on floors in the second half of 2025."
The source further added that the third instalment of Tanu Weds Manu will feature Kangana Ranaut in a triple role alongside the sigular role of R Madhavan.
As per the report, Kangana is excited to explore the first triple role of her career, and is awaiting a complete narration from Aanand L Rai.
"The film will give her the opportunity to dive into new shades of a performer,” the source added.
The portal mentioned that the film is expected to go on floors by July or August 2025, once Aanand L Rai wraps up shooting for Tere Ishk Mein with Dhanush and Kriti Sanon. The film is expected to be a big theatrical release in 2026 and is expected to continue the 100 percent track record of the franchise at the box office.
Meanwhile, in a recent interview with Hindustan Times, director Aanand L Rai addressed the speculations about the third installment of Kangana Ranaut and R Madhavan starrer Tanu Weds Manu.
He shared, "It only depends on the story, nothing else. We are working on the story. It is a big responsibility to get the characters back with a bigger story. I am on it, and I will be on floors the day it’s cracked.”
The filmmaker further added that the work is in full swing and the pressure to live up to the benchmark the second part set is real.
