Kangana Ranaut on casting Nawazuddin Siddiqui, 47, opposite Avneet Kaur, 20, in Tiku Weds Sheru: 'I was warned of the age gap'

Kangana Ranaut is all set to make her digital debut as producer with the upcoming film Tiku Weds Sheru.

The lead actors in Kangana Ranaut's first film, Tiku Weds Sheru, are Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Avneet Kaur. The film will soon be released on Amazon Prime Video. Along with creating a new on-screen jodi, Nawazuddin and Avneet's casting has revived the discussion over the vast age difference between the male and female actors. Since Nawazuddin is 47 and Avneet is 20, there is a 27-year age gap between the two in this case. Producer and actress Kangana does not consider it to be a major problem.

Earlier, Kangana addressed the subject with the media at the Tiku Weds Sheru claiming that she had been advised against teaming Nawazuddin and Avneet but thought it matched the plot of the film. “Mujhe sab ne bohot warn kiya tha iske against, chahe jo bhi age gap hai ya jo bhi hai, yeh meri story ko suit karta hai,” said Kangana.

The actress continued by claiming that their compatibility and mutual understanding were the causes of their on-screen chemistry in Tanu Weds Manu and its sequel Tanu Weds Manu Returns. She said, “So it was my belief that Avneet is the right person for this film. With Nawaz sir, uski Jodi bahut badi hit rahegi, this is my feeling. But let’s see, baaki toh aap logon ke haath mein hai."

With the upcoming satirical love story Tiku Weds Sheru, Kangana Ranaut is scheduled to make her digital producing debut. With the help of her production company Manikarnika Films, Kangana enters the online world.
