Kangana Ranaut gives her two cents on Netflix vs Amazon Prime Video in India, takes a dig at 'one bi*chy gossipy' 90s director

Kangana Ranaut's debut production is set to make its OTT debut soon after foraying into the OTT space with Lock Upp as a host. Yes, her home banner, Manikarnika, is producing Tiku Weds Sheru featuring Nawazudding Siddiqui and Avneet Kaur, which will be released on Amazon Prime Video. Kangana even attended the huge event held in Mumbai on Thursday. A teaser for the upcoming film was also unveiled at the event.

However, the National Award-winning actor decided to take a dig not only at Netflix India but also at filmmaker Karan Johar indirectly. Kangana took to her Instagram story and wrote that, according to data, Amazon Prime Video is performing far better in India than Netflix India. Perhaps it is because they are more open-minded and democratic that when an international leader visits India, they do not park themselves at a fading 90s director's infamous party, but instead meet everyone who is contributing to them.

She added that, as per reports, Netflix India's head was unable to comprehend the Indian market. The Indian market is more than just one bitchy, gossipy-nineties director. There are hundreds of talented individuals here.

Kangana also shared her glamorous photos on Instagram along with announcing Tiku Weds Sheru. She also recalled that she had spent 16 years in the film industry as an actor. The Queen star wrote that on this day sixteen years ago, on April 28th, 2006, the film Gangster was released, and she began her career as an actor. Today, April 28, 2022, she launched Manikarnika Films' first production, Tiku Weds Sheru, as part of Amazon Prime Video's fifth-anniversary celebrations, and today marks the beginning of her career as a producer.

Meanwhile, Lock Upp produced by Ekta Kapoor, is currently streaming on MX Player and ALTBalaji. Kangana's upcoming film is Dhaakad, and the trailer will be out today.
